Freedom

Jul 2, 2023

Freedom! Something we don’t give much thought to it. It’s something most of us were born into and have lived our life being free.

Some statistics to consider…There are 195 countries in the world today.

In 2022, 84 countries were classified as free. That’s 43 percent of countries in the world were classified as free by the Freedom House freedom in the world index.

In 2008, 90 Countries (46 percent) of the world's country's were regarded as free.

In the last 14 years, six countries have gone from being a democracy to being a dictatorship.

We may not feel free at times, but when you drill down to necessities of life, we are assured by the Bill of Rights, freedom such as;

—freedom of speech,

— freedom to bear arms

—freedom to worship,

—freedom to assemble and, —freedom to express ourselves.

With freedom comes enormous responsibilities. Our own well being, our happiness, is not something that we can expect from others or that is delivered to us by the state.

We must align ourselves to the beliefs our forefathers intended:

Governments are properly instituted among men, after all, NOT to secure our happiness, but to secure our right to the pursuit of happiness.

We are responsible for pursuing happiness for ourselves. Love of God and Freedom just may be the most common thing we share with one another.

Since the beginning of time God has intended us to be free, not burdened by rules and laws of some human ruler. He gave us FREE WILL.

Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

‭‭

Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

‭‭

2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.”
